Abiding in Acceptance, April 29 – May 1, 2027

Chicago, Illinois

I cannot explain my identity, nor can I somehow prove myself.
Rather I must accept myself.

Romano Guardini, The Acceptance of Yourself

Hate burns like wildfire in our world today, and no heart is immune. Even our sincere efforts to improve ourselves and build a better world are too easily infected with hostility.

Jesus came to rescue us from this vicious cycle. He restores us and our world with LOVE. We can only truly follow Him when we accept ourselves as He has accepted us. Join us to grow in the life-changing Christian virtue of self-acceptance!

Through worship, teaching, and prayer, this retreat will impart real self-acceptance so that we:

  • • Become as lovingly patient with ourselves and one another as God is with us;
  • • Experience our Father’s loving gaze and find freedom from painful self-consciousness;
  • • Follow Jesus with the courage that is the birthright of every child of God!

“I can be a Christian filled with the Spirit of God, but if I hate myself, the light of God is going to emanate through me in distorted ways.”
