About Us
Ministries of Pastoral Care (MPC) is a Christian non-profit working for a world restored to wholeness in Christ, every person overflowing with His love. MPC centers theology and psychology in Christ so that wholeness isn’t studied but lived. We do this by creating sacred space where people encounter the living Christ and go out radiating His love into the world.
Through schools and retreats around the world, online media and newsletters, MPC provides life-changing experiences of worship, teaching, prayer, and genuine fellowship.
Our History
Founded in 2010, MPC carries forward the legacy of Leanne Payne’s 40-year ministry focused on God’s healing presence. MPC is led by Sarah Colyn, a seminary-trained psychologist who was in clinical practice for twenty years before becoming MPC’s primary teacher and president. Since its inception, MPC has served thousands at events around the globe and served many more through newsletters and online media.
Leanne Payne
Leanne Payne (1932-2015) was an author and healing prayer ministry leader. . Called a “great soldier for Christ” by the philosopher Dallas Willard, she founded Pastoral Care Ministries (PCM), dedicated to teaching, healing, and growth in Christian maturity. She wrote seven books, including The Healing Presence and Restoring the Christian Soul, that continue in print in English and in 12 other language translations. Some of her books are now available on audible or other audio streaming services.
Leanne retired from public ministry in 2008. Because it was her uniquely personal work, Leanne recognized that no successor could continue PCM after she retired. With a strong desire to see the her ministry legacy continue, MPC was established with her blessing, mentoring, and guidance. To this day, many discover MPC by searching for a ministry that will allow them to experience what they’ve read about in Leanne’s books.

Our Team
MPC has two paid staff, Sarah Colyn and a full-time office manager, and is wholly supported by a dedicated volunteer workforce of 45 people who are primarily responsible for the operations, prayer and ministering of MPC events.
